- Whispering Relic
The looming towers of Teufelsberg (Devil's Mountain) stand atop a site with a fragmented history and a future stuck in limbo. Families with children now hike through the beauty of the surrounding forest to reach this troubled site.
I have visited the towers numerous times. On one visit, I climbed the stairways, stopping at every floor to peer through the tattered cloth skins hanging limp on each level. The wind heaved and whipped the cloth violently. Against my better judgement I decided to make a nude self portrait at the site. Shivering, I let the waving cloths frame my trembling body as the shutter clicked.
